Oh my god, it's huge.

My rental car. Or should I say truck. I have a 2005 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 with a 8' bed. The meaning of large has taken on a new meaning with this truck. I thought my Ram was bad enough to drive. However, this is just plain worse. It's at least 4' longer, and 1/2' wider than my truck. I honestly think anyone that buys one of these things as a daily driver has a small endowment. No sane person would have something like this. But many people do, and I just question their sanaty. Why did I select such a beast? I had the choice between a Dodge Neon, a Ford Excursion and this thing. The person in front of me snagged the last normal car which was an Altima, and the Liberty was reserved for someone else. Oh well. I can handle driving this thing at least.

Why do I have a rental truck that is bigger than the Queen Elizabeth II? My Ram's seat heater control module is fried and needs to be replaced. It won't be done for at least another two days. I also am going to get the brake issue taken care of. The pads have about another 3K worth of wear left on them, and I just want to get them taken care of at this point, instead of loosing the truck. What is disapointing is the front brakes have only lasted about 26K miles. That's dispaointing, because the Camry went 70K on the first set.

Tonight was the Maryland State Police initial interview process. No surprises really. They line you up in a formation, invite you into a room one by one, you fill out some basic information on a piece of paper, show a video of what the first hour of the academy looks like (just like boot camp), tell you some stuff, then ask you to fill out a second application with more personal information, and then give you some forms. I got a date of my agility test, which I am going to request a change of.
